Elite Speed trains Belleville athletes at 3985 Horseshoe Lake Rd in Granite City, straight north up I-255 to I-270 west. It is interstate almost the entire way, group speed and agility starts at $30 a month, and the first session is free for every athlete who walks in.
Coach Pierre Tucker’s All-Conference years were run at Belleville West, part of BTHS District 201. Belleville seasons are set by the IHSA, with state finals in March for basketball and May for track and field. Elite Speed is not affiliated with the district.
The Belleville drive is the easy kind: you get on one interstate and you get off near the building. No river crossing, no city traffic, no thirty minutes of stoplights on IL-159. I-255 runs the length of the metro-east and the facility sits right where it meets I-270 by Horseshoe Lake.
The route from Belleville
- Pick up I-255 north, from IL-15 or IL-159 depending on your side of town.
- Follow I-255 to I-270 and head west toward Granite City.
- Come off toward Horseshoe Lake and finish on Horseshoe Lake Rd.
Roughly half an hour in normal traffic. One of our Google reviewers put it this way: easy to get to and not too far off the highway. The 9:00pm weekday close is the other half of why it works, because a Belleville family is not racing a 7:00pm cutoff after a school practice.

Belleville East, Belleville West, and everybody underneath
Athletes driving up from Belleville play for Belleville East, Belleville West and the youth programs feeding both. Elite Speed is independent and claims no affiliation with either school. What it offers is the training a school season never has enough hours for.

Wide receiver, running back, defensive back, linebacker and offensive line each get their own coach and their own session, Monday through Thursday.

Sprint mechanics get coached as a skill: arm action, knee drive, ground contact, and the first three steps out of a stance.

Lateral quickness and change of direction carry onto a court and a diamond. One foundation, every season, no second gym required.
